Add AES encryption
If you want to protect the communication between host and readers, we recommend you implement Advanced Encryption Standard (AES)call_made encryption. Our readers support the variant AES-128.
Currently no BALTECH tool support
BALTECH tools currently do not support AES, i.e. you can no longer use them for testing or maintenance as soon as readers are configured for AES encryption. Please bear with us while we're adapting our tools.
For Ethernet readers, you can implement PKI encryption instead of AES. At this time, we recommend you do so, as PKI encryption is supported by our tools.
Implement AES encryption
Create security settings
To store the AES key on the readers and define permissions, create security settings as part of the reader configuration.
Establish encrypted connection
You can now establish an encrypted connection from your host application.
