Deploy configuration to reader
There are several ways of deploying a configuration to your readers, depending on whether you deploy it manually during or before installation, or automatically via your own host application.
In most cases, you'll deploy the configuration manually, either before installing the readers, or as part of the installation process. There are 2 ways of doing it, depending on whether you deploy the configuration's BEC file or have loaded it to a BALTECH ConfigCard.
Do you have separate configurations for project and device settings?
Then first deploy the device settings and afterwards the project settings. If you do it the other way round, the reader won't accept the device settings.
Deploy BEC file via BALTECH Uploader
Open BALTECH Uploader.
If you haven't installed it yet, you can download it herecall_made as part of BALTECH ToolSuite.
Click Browse... in the top right and select the configuration file.
- Connect the reader to your computer.
Click Select Reader.
Click the reader you connected, then click Select.
Click Start Update.
The configuration is now uploaded and installed on the reader. Once the process is completed, disconnect the reader and continue with the next if needed.
Deploy via BALTECH ConfigCard
Present the ConfigCard to the reader you want to configure. While the card is processed, the reader's LED turns yellow, followed by a pause of several seconds and the signal indicating the result.
Removing the card while the yellow LED is on will cancel the process, and no configuration will be deployed.
If everything has worked, the pattern is as follows:
If the reader emits any other feedback or no feedback at all, please refer to our troubleshooting guide.
Deploy via host application
If you develop your own host application, you can deploy the configuration via the host as well. This may be the right approach if you have a large amount of readers in your project.
