Reopening the ACCESS200 housing

The housing is not designed for frequent opening and closing as this is usually not necessary once the reader is mounted. Instead, the housing is designed to be slim and not too easy to open as this helps protect the reader against vandalism. So, if you do need to reopen the housing, take appropriate care.

To avoid damage:

  • Use a wide screwdriver and apply force over the whole snapper width.
  • Once you've pushed the snapper slightly upwards, remove the front of the housing by pulling its lower edge towards you.

If you apply high upwards force to the snapper and pull the front towards you at the same time, the snapper will break off quickly.
