Check which frequencies a reader supports
If you're unsure about the frequencies your reader supports, you can find out using BALTECH ID-engine Explorer.
To check for a reader's supported frequencies:
- Connect the reader to your computer.

Open BALTECH ID-engine Explorer.
If you haven't installed it yet, you can download it herecall_made as part of BALTECH ToolSuite.

Click the reader, then click Select.
- If several interfaces are shown for the reader, please select HID.
- Connecting an Ethernet reader currently only works in maintenance mode or with PKI encryption (learn more).
At the bottom of the screen, check the Supported Card Types info box:
Label | Meaning |
---|---|
13.56 MHz | All cards using the 13.56 MHz frequency except LEGIC cards |
125 kHz | All cards using the 125 kHz frequency |
LEGIC | LEGIC cards |
