Activate the Mobile ID app

Once a user has received their invitation e-mail, they can activate the app. Each invitation is valid for 7 days and can be used for 1 phone.

I use self-service registration

If you've enabled self-service registration for your project, it's up to you as an admin to provide users with the below QR codes and instructions as well as instructions on the subsequent registration process with your host system.

To activate the app:

  1. Download the app.
To do so, scan the appropriate QR code for your phone (iPhone or Android) in the invitation e-mail with the phone's camera (or, on older Android versions, with a QR scanner app such as this one).

  2. In the app, tap Scan QR code and scan the bottom QR code in the invitation e-mail.
To do so, you need to allow Mobile ID to access the camera.

  3. On an iPhone, allow the app to use Bluetooth.
On an Android phone, allow Nearby devices.

    Why?

Without this permission, the app cannot be recognized by card readers and will not work.
If you've granted this permission and Bluetooth is disabled on your phone, you'll find instructions in the app on how to enable it.

  4. We recommend you allow the app to send you notifications.

    Why?

    iPhone:
We can notify you if you've been offline for too long or if your permissions to use the app have been revoked by an admin (i.e. you've been deleted or re-invited).

    Android:
We can keep the app running in the background and notify you if you've been offline for too long or if your permissions to use the app have been revoked by an admin (i.e. you've been deleted or re-invited).
