MIFARE Classic cards with 7-byte UIDs can't be formatted with a job file created for 4-byte UIDs

Details

Issue
When you try to format MIFARE Classic cards with 7-byte UIDs, but use a job file that was originally created for cards with 4-byte UIDs, BALTECH Card Formatter Tool will display the error message Card could not be authenticated.

Workaround
The job file needs to be adapted to support 7-byte UIDs. Please get in touch with us. We'll then provide you with an updated version of the job file.

MIFARE DESFire EV 2 cards can't be reformatted when holding a DAM key

Details

Issue
It's currently not possible to reformat a MIFARE DESFire EV 2 card if the card holds a DAM (Delegated Application Management) key. When you try to reformat such a card using the original or a modified job file, BALTECH Card Formatter Tool will display an authentication error. The original formatting will remain unchanged.

The GUI controls are overlapping

Issue
When opening a job file that has extra fields defined, some GUI controls of the BALTECH Card Formatter can overlap and values for the extra fields can't be edited.
